On may 16 the chief engineer of CJSC “South Caucasian Railway” Sergey Harutyunyan and vice-prefect of the administrative district of Yerevan Frunze Basentsyan acquainted with the sanitary and hygienic shape of the territory located next to the railways. Sergey Harutyunyan and Frunze Basentsyan with the head of SCR Passenger Traffic Directorate Gagik Movsisyan travelled from Yerevan to Masis on train monitoring the state of Noragavit – Masis stage.
Sergey Harutyunyan turned to the representative of Shengavit prefecture noting that residents of the district left their household waste near that way, so the growing piles of garbage not only defected the city aesthetically, but also harmed the ecology of Shengavit. As SCR chief engineer noted although the piles of garbage were located outside of so-called railway boundary lines, they posed a real threat to the safety of trains.
The representatives of SCR and Shengavit prefecture also discussed issues on preventing the auto transport from crossing railway tracks illegally. SCR chief engineer and Shengavit vice-prefect noted the need for further discussions on the issues of clearing the territories and the campaign against illegal crossings of the railway tracks.
