Social Policy Remains a Priority for SCR
Social policy remains the focus of South Caucasian Railway. CJSC "SCR" Chief Executive Officer Victor Rebets stated this at the press conference dedicated to 100 days in office as the head of the company on May 24.
Since the beginning of SCR in Armenia railroad employees’ salaries almost doubled. Growth rates of wages of railway are ahead of wage growth in Armenia. Also, the index of minimum hourly wage rate is higher than in the republic, - said V. Rebets. 
The head of SCR said that company also assumes the costs of organizing summer camps for employees’ children.
According to V. Rebts SCR pays great attention to preparation of professional personnel. In particular, the railway cooperates with two leading Armenian universities - Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University and State Engineering University of Armenia. 
"Besides, now we are selecting 15 graduates of 2012, who we send to study in the railway universities of the Russian Federation", - said SCR Chief Executive Officer.
By the time of transfer of CJSC "Armenian Railways" in concession management to "SCR" in May 2008 the employees’ average monthly wage was 74 834 drams. Since then the wages of employees regularly have been increased: since 2008 railroad wages increased 2.1 times. 
On the basis of the 1st quarter of 2012 SCR employees’ average monthly wage amounted to 157,087 drams, which is 14.5% higher than in the first quarter of 2011. At the same time in April of this year the average monthly nominal wage in Armenia, according to the operative data of National Statistical Service, amounted to 118,497 drams. The minimum hourly wage rate in SCR is 265.96 AMD, despite the fact that in Armenia the figure is 196 AMD.
